DONATA ROCKS THE EDM REVOLUTION
Because there are so many beautiful things around us. We just need to have courage to open our eyes and see them. We need to be brave and stand up for ourselves, our famılıes and friends. It unites us and makes us strong.
DONATA, singer, songwriter and performer just released her latest EP titled ‘REVOLUTION.’ The EP counts four original tracks released on the 003 Records label. A heavy-hitting and high-energy dance record with excellent production, ingenious songwriting and impressive performances by everyone involved. Revolution takes the cool from today’s EDM sound and combines it with in-your-face vocals. Donata is inspired by such legendary pop stars as Madonna, Muse, Daft Punk, and Infected Mushroom. Her music, intuitively, is vivifying and classy, radical and unpredictable. The sound is rooted in alternative rock with digitized effects. Her vocal style is direct and with a touch of unique feminine aggression.
DONATA: “Revolution was born as I progressed my singing career. It’s my ambition to spread my music around the world, not just to have success in one country. The song is not about a real revolution. It’s about everyone’s inner revolution. It’s a call to grasp opportunity, to change one’s lifestyle to positive effect. Living the life you want because no one else but yourself can make your own life changes.
I never write songs about love. I love to write about social themes much more. It’s not a shame to be sad, disappointed or hopeless. There is solution for everything if you really believe in yourself. Everyone can do ıt because essentially we are all the same. We are humans who are fighting to be heard. Mostly we don’t face great times everyday; there are tears, frustrations, sicknesses and death. İt’s lıfe. and we should learn how to cope with that and be happy. Because there are so many beautiful things around us. We just need to have courage to open our eyes and see them. We need to be brave and stand up for ourselves, our famılıes and friends. It unites us and makes us strong. My songs bring a positive message and musically speaking, I love pure energy. When a track has lots of energy and a good vibe I love to listen to it. And when I write songs , I just want to give people courage and hope.”
The EP took almost four months to perfect. Donata did a first live show at a big festival in Ankara, Turkey where no one in the audience had ever heard her music. Many people ran to the stage to experience her performance. The feedback was great. Everyone loved the energy that Donata spread on stage.
Donata, who was born in 1986 in Hungary to a middle-class Lithuanian family, got her first taste of real fame when she entered a nationally televised talent show for unknown Lithuanian artists. She made the finals. In 2008, she released her debut pop record, which was written and recorded in the Lithuanian language. Living now in Turkey, she has been working with the famous Turkish music producer Erkan Tatoglu to polish up “Revolution,” her debut to the English-speaking world.
‘Revolution’ by Donata is out now on all major digital record stores.
